Overview
This page explains how to delete your Idometrics account and personal data, what is deleted, what is retained, and for how long. Idometrics is operated by Idometrics Ltd. If you have any questions, contact us at support@idometrics.com.
How to delete your account (in the app)
You can delete your account at any time directly in the Idometrics app:
- Open the Idometrics app and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Settings → Account control.
- Tap Delete account.
- Verify your identity with the one-time code (OTP) we email you.
- Confirm deletion.
If you cannot access the app, you can also request deletion by emailing support@idometrics.com from the email address associated with your account.
What happens after you request deletion
- Before your data is removed, we email you a backup/export of your data and posts (videos, profile information, and related content) so you keep a copy.
- Your account is then deactivated, and your personal data and content are permanently deleted automatically within 90 days.
What is deleted
- Your account and profile information (name, username, email, profile photo).
- Your uploaded videos and posts.
- Your chat messages and uploaded media.
- Your social connections (relating/relaters) and in-app activity.
What is retained (and for how long)
To meet our safety, security, and legal obligations, a limited set of records may be retained after deletion:
- Content moderation logs: up to 2 years (safety and abuse prevention).
- AI/usage processing data: up to 5 years.
- Records we are required to keep by law (for example, transaction or legal records): only for as long as legally required.
These retained records are minimized and are not used to re-identify you for any other purpose.
Delete specific data without deleting your account
You do not have to delete your entire account to remove data:
- Delete a video or post: open the video, tap the options menu, and select Delete.
- Delete chat content: open the message and select Delete (this removes the message and its uploaded media).
- To request deletion of other specific personal data, email support@idometrics.com and we will action your request.
